The time is now

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Is there something that you have been waiting to do, but haven’t gotten around to accomplish?  What is it?  Maybe it has been in your heart, because God has placed it there.  IF God has placed it there the only thing left to do is act.  We aren’t guaranteed our next breath, the time is now, sprint on it!

Uniquely Designed

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

We might look similar, but every individual is uniquely designed.  We all have different talents, skills, and abilities.  Your job is to find your strengths and live them out.  Many Christians want to study more and more about God, which is very important, but at the same time, we have to take the time to figure out how we are uniquely designed and live those strengths every day!

Perception isn’t always Reality

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

If you are looking at the picture above, you might think there is some sort of animation to it, but it is really just a picture.   Our mind attempts to make sense of things when we may not have the whole picture.

Shaina got an awesome email the other day from an old friend.  Her friend thanked her for helping her get back on track with her relationship with God.  Shaina, at the time, didn’t think it was a big deal, but it meant so much to her that her friend emailed her and said those kind words.  It’s crazy that something you might do today, will effect someone for the rest of their life.

Remember, it may not seem like the things you do matter, but our perception isn’t always reality.

Twitter in Church – Sign Up Today!

Monday, June 9th, 2008

This past Sunday we told you that in a few weeks we were going to be using Twitter during the sermon. Like most things in life, Twitter is more fun with the more people you have playing along. So here’s what to do. Go to twitter.com and register for a free account. Once you’ve done that, you need to tie your cell phone to it. So go to settings, then devices. Follow the instructions for the mobile phone side of things so you can do your twittering from your phone in the service. One more thing, you need to “follow” imagine fellowship on twitter. So go to the search bar at the top and type in imagine fellowship. Once it comes up, hit follow. That’s it, you’re ready to be a part of one of the first churches in the country to use twitter during church!

If Twitter freaks you out and you don’t understand it, check out the video below from commoncraft.com, they explain it in plain English.

Niche Organizations

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Niche organizations are successful because they start with a concentrated force.   Just like the drop of water in this video, it starts in one central location then pushes outward.  How does this relate to the church?  Simply.  Our force is Christ and we need to reach out to people where they are….Check out the video

Smaller makes bigger

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

When social networking first started out, it was all about Myspace and Facebook–great websites.  Yet, now they are becoming just like Walmart and Target.  These companies will always do well and have there niche, but it seems there are now organizations that are finding there niche by going small.  Take the the website Ning for example– now you can create your own social networking site, pretty amazing!  Why is it amazing?  Because they target smaller audiences, but over the long haul can gain some huge results. Check out the website!  More on this topic later…

Influence

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

If you want to influence others, you need to put influential words in your vocabulary.  Unfortunately, the common statements you hear are,”If only they would…” or “If I could do it then it would be done well.”  These are controlling statements, not influential ones.  Watch out for these statements because they give you a false reality of your abilities and leave others discouraged.  Try these statements instead: “What can I do to help you?” or “You are doing an amazing job!” These will encourage others and create influence.  You cannot control anyone, but you can influence them.

Family is Vital

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

I am so proud of my wife, she was just recently promoted to LT in the United States Navy.  (my wife is to the left and my mother in law to the right–they are both beautiful aren’t they!!)  That comes with huge responsibilities, but what I love about her most is her dedication to our family. She is the type of mom, that makes sure everything is in its place, and thankfully because our poor son would probably be living in a dirty diaper if it was just on me, (only because of my a.d.d. :) She is the type of wife who supports me through all the crazy things I dream up and loves me through all the things I forget. She is vital to our family. Take some time out today, to either thank your mom or your wife for all they do!
