Throwin the dice….

Monday, February 11th, 2008

Just yesterday we announced at service that we are looking for a building to rent, about 5,000 sq ft…I have already got a call from a broker this morning who helped a ton. Proverbs 16:33 says, We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall. Continue to throw the dice and God will take care of the rest!

Professional Athletes and Jet Pilots

Friday, February 8th, 2008

Professional athletes and jet pilots. What do they have in common? They do things with phenomenal excellence and speed. If we were to be thrown into their shoes it would be shear chaos. Yet, to them, things are moving very slow, they are methodical. How do they do it? Practice. They have done it a million times. When I first started flying a plane I was so worked up, and then, with tons of practice, things in the plane got slower and slower, and I felt more and more comfortable. When things slow down you start to see more, your awareness level increases, your discernment increases, you start to see angles you didn’t see before. It happens for all of us…..where does it happen for you?

Amazing!

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

This evening my wife and I went to Bay Area Fellowship and it was absolutely amazing. We had dinner at La Playa, which was awesome because they have this fabulous salsa, and then we went to the service which was just for Imagine. There were so many people that welcomed us and encouraged us, it was like a whirlwind of encouragement. It was an absolute amazing night and I think that God is going to do some crazy things here in the next couple of weeks.

What’s on your mind?

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

I was talking to a friend of mine today and realized that whatever is in the forefront of our minds, and whatever we think about most, is probably the number one issue going on in our lives. It sounds kind of simple, and it is, but when you realize it, it makes a huge difference in yours and others lives. Listen to others and let them speak first, it allows them to get out what they think is most important, just by doing this, you will see their priorities and their concerns. By realizing what you think about lets you prioritize and take action in those areas of your life. So what’s on your mind?

Constantly Learning

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Last weekend we talked about that its not if you are going to make a mistake its when, and when you make it how do you handle it. I know there are so many times that I have made mistakes, and the best thing to do was to always own up to it. Like today for instance, I almost fed our seven week old baby a banana. I wanted him to try it out…Well, My wife told me, in her Puerto Rican way, :) that you don’t give babies solid food. What can I say? Constantly learning.

Top of the world, bottom of the ditch

Friday, February 1st, 2008

I was thinking today that in church planting (and for that matter just about every profession) there are days that things are just moving at lightning speed. Tasks are being accomplished, the phone is going crazy, meetings left and right. Then there are days when not one thing got completely done, the phone never rings, and all of your meetings are canceled. Whoever said that in leadership, the highs are higher and the lows are lower, is completely correct.
