Knowing your limits

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

We can’t do everything. In fact, we weren’t designed to do everything. God designed us to do a couple of things really well. That is why there is a body of Christ, because it takes more than doing it by ourself.

The things that we don’t do well we need to delegate. What is it that you need to delegate in your life? What is it that is keeping you from delegating? We have limits, we need to recognize them, and then focus on things where we excel!

Where do you spend your time

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Where do you spend most of your time each day? I say “spend”, because you only have so much of it, once it is gone, that’s it! Spend the most time on the things that give you the biggest return. For you, it might mean starting a new relationship, reading a book, or making a phone call. Spend your time wisely, because it is one of the few things in life you can never get back.

Relational Web

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Imagine uses a relational web to reach our community. What is a relational web? It is our methodology to reach people for Christ that already exists within our sphere of influence. We all have relationships at work, friends, and family that we do life with, but some of them do not yet have a relationship with Christ. Sometimes we ask someone to go to church, but then we never see the person again, but when you use your natural sphere of influence, you will see that person again and again, and it allows a greater chance for you to reach them. It is more difficult to ask someone to come to church when we don’t have the relational credibility to ask. For example, it would be hard to ask someone to borrow money from someone you barely know, and more importantly they will be less likely to give to you if you don’t have a relationship with them. We need to use the natural relationships that we already have. Bringing them to church puts them in a healthy environment, and something that is healthy grows! If one person decided to reach three people through their relationships, and those three people reached three, and so on, doing this ten times would reach 29, 524 people in all….That’s a lot of lives changed for Christ!

One Idea Away

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

Sometimes in life, we fall into a slump. We might feel down because we have not found a solution to the problem that is facing us. In our minds, there are no options left. What has happened? We have begun to let our external circumstances dictate our mood and perception of what is really happening. What we need to realize is that we are usually only one idea away from our answer. That one idea can rock our world. Remember, God can flood our minds with thousands of ideas, but luckily it only takes one to revolutionize our lives.

A True Calling

Monday, February 18th, 2008

What do you want to do in life? Still trying to figure it out? It seems like so many people hold a job simply to pay the bills. This, of course, is not a bad thing as long as we continue searching for our calling. There are so many people that are in the church or business world that say that they felt like they received a calling into that area. What does that mean? I believe it means that you live, breathe, feel, and hear the thing that disturbs your very being. If you are already in it, you could never see yourself doing anything else. If you have yet to take the step of faith to follow the calling, then you will stop at nothing to try and fulfill it, independent of money and status. Your calling might be to serve or to give and your job is just a means to accomplish that. If you have not found it yet, I encourage you to keep searching. It might be right underneath your nose.

Takin’ a break

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Sometimes we get so busy in life we forget to do some of the most basic things. We feel like if we take a break, or stop working for 30 minutes, everything will fall apart. Remember that God has more control than we ever will, relax in Him. Things got so busy today, so I simply took a stroll for 20 minutes around the block. Simple, but it brought clarity and perspective. When things get crazy stop and take a walk.

From Vision to Fruition

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Have you ever watched a preview to a movie, then watched the movie, and it seemed like it didn’t match up? This is called bait and switch. Sometimes we do this in our own lives, when we want something, but we aren’t willing to do what it takes for it to match up. It is crucial that you head in a direction, it may even be in the wrong direction, but as long as you are moving you can always adjust. Take constant steps and one day you will look up, see what you saw in your head, and it will match what is going on in your life. From vision to fruition.

imaginefellowship.com

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Great news! We just got imaginefellowship.com! For a couple of months I have been calling the church that has this domain for their building campaign, and they got back with me and said that they would be done with it in June and they would give it to us for free…So if someone puts .org or .com they will get to our site. Doesn’t get any better than that!
